After his starring turn in 1997' s Titanic ( with Kate Winslet ), he was an international superstar, and a favorite of the tabloids for his pin-up looks and party-boy reputation. His other films include Woody Allen' s Celebrity ( 1998, with Gretchen Mol ), The Beach ( 2000 ), Steven Spielberg' s Catch Me If You Can ( 2002, with Christopher Walken ) and Martin Scorsese' s Gangs of New York ( 2002, co-starring Cameron Diaz ). He worked with Scorsese again in 2004' s The Aviator, playing eccentric innovator Howard Hughes.
